How we select tours and verify information

Selection criteria

We shortlist a small number of Parma factory tours rather than listing everything available on Viator. A tour earns a place on this site when its listing states a clear pickup point, a stated duration, and transport included as part of the booking — the three details a traveler planning around a factory visit actually needs. We also weigh relevance to a genuine Parmigiano Reggiano or Prosciutto di Parma visit and the traveler feedback visible on the listing. Operators cannot pay for placement, and paying us does not change a tour's position in the shortlist.

Where our data comes from

Prices, durations, ratings, review counts, and cancellation terms shown on this site are pulled from live Viator listing data through Viator's own partner API, not typed in by hand and not estimated. These figures change as operators adjust pricing or availability, so we periodically re-check them and note the verification date on guide pages that quote a specific number. The one place to see the current, final figure is always the official tour listing itself, linked from every tour card.

What we never invent

We do not fabricate or estimate the following, on this site or anywhere in our editorial content:

• Prices, discounts, or currency conversions not confirmed by the live listing.
• Star ratings, review counts, or review content — these are Viator's own aggregate figures, not ours.
• Availability, sold-out status, or "last spots" urgency messaging.
• Guide certifications, exclusive access claims, or "official" status for this site.
• Customer counts, satisfaction percentages, or "most popular" claims without a real, checkable figure.
• Cancellation policies, inclusions, or accessibility details not stated on the operator's own listing.

Where we cannot verify a number — a price, a duration, an inclusion — we say so directly and point to the live listing instead of guessing.

Updates and corrections

Guide pages carry a published date and a last-updated date. If you spot outdated pricing, a broken link, or a factual error, email hello@parmafactorytours.com and we will review it.
